Trail Boss Tour's Baja Ride! The ultimate Baja adventure! (continued from page 3)

Monday, March 18

I slept okay in San Quintin but occasionally was awakened by the constant rain all night. There were four single beds in our room and luckily, the roof over my bed didn't leak, (My buddy had to change beds in the middle of the night as his bed started getting soaked from the leaky roof). Now more than yesterday I am realizing how seriously out of shape I am. In the morning we met at 7:30am at the restaurant next door for breakfast. After eating another excellent breakfast, I went back to the hotel to pack my stuff and get my riding clothes on for the day.

This morning we had more time on our hands as Chris told us today's ride would be the shortest day. We didn't actually pull out until about 10:00am. Today's ride would take us from San Quintin to the famous Mike's Sky Ranch and was about 88 miles according to the GPS. Some of today's ride would be on pavement as there were some sections that could not be connected by dirt roads. It rained on and off throughout the day and we actually hit some single track that was pretty muddy. I am not a big fan of driving an almost 300 pound bike through the mud with a front tire that is less than brand new as my front end was washing out quite a bit.

We did see a lot of beautiful scenery today which made it worthwhile.

When we arrived at Mike's Sky Ranch, I was pretty cold and just wanted to relax in the hotel room for awhile. Soon after we arrived, Chris in the relief truck pulled up and said the van that held all of our luggage was stuck about two miles back on the dirt road in the mud. So most everyone headed back down the road to help. Soon everyone returned with the van following close behind.

We ate right in the Mike's Sky Ranch dining room one of the best pork roast dinners I have ever had in my life. I even asked for more as it was just too good to stop.

Here are a few pictures of our third day riding.
